Giant Sequoia National Parks

We arrived at the park at the Foothills Visitor Center when the doors opened at 8:00am. We immediately learned that th RV was too long to make it through the park, but the park service was kind enough (after hearing the kids cross country adventure stories) to provide us with free shuttle service into and around the park.

We visited the Foothills, Giants Museum, and Lodgepole visitor centers and the kiddos completed the park Junior Ranger Program. This tour carried us to all points in the park.

The trees are their own special environments and I must point out that the photos we took do not begin capture the scale of the trees. They are otherwordly huge with soft, thick bark and motled growth rings.

The wildlife was surprising as well, the kids had their first experience with a wild bear walking the forest with her three cubs, we also saw multiple Mule Deer, and other small forest animals.

Again, this would not have been possible without the help of aome very courteous Rangers who wanted to make sure the kids had the opportunity to carry on their adventure.

Finally, the opportunity to grab a burget inside the park was well received.
