San Francisco Maritime Historic Park

After Alcatraz my brother drove my parents back to the RV and the kiddos and yours truly took off on foot down the   wharf. On the way we met a pretty cool Buhdist monk. I donated some money to his temple and he gave the kiddos on his snake charm cards and a beaded bracelet to me. We also saw various street performers, con artists, street hawkers, bums, and other lively scenes. The streets were alive with the sounds as varied as percussion solos, reggae, country ( Loretta Lynn songs no less) and a really old guy singing in what I think was russian to his dog.

We ended up at the Maritime museum and the kiddos finished another Jr Ranger program. Really proud of these kids. After they finished this we toured the various boats at the museum with my favorite being the Balcluth which is a full rigged ship. The kids climbed everywhere except the crows nest and we all had a blast. We finished off the day back at the RV and had BBQ chicken and veggies.

I am finishing up this little post with the realization that I took care of all of the kiddos UV precautions and took none for myself... In otherwords, My face is burnt to a rosy red perfection.

Very nice way to wrap up San Fran.
